Georgia reports 1,233 new cases of coronavirus of 32,930

Georgia has reported 1,233 new cases of coronavirus, 1,002 recoveries and 31 deaths in the past 24 hours.
32,930 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 22,831 of the 32,930 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10,099 were PCR tests.
The country has had 345,196 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
3.30 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
328,620 of the 345,196 patients have recovered, while 4,804 have died from the virus.
Currently 11,746 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.

The new 1,233 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 676 cases
- Adjara - 102 cases
- Imereti - 126 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 66 cases
- Shida Kartli - 65 cases
- Guria - 28 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 89 cases
- Kakheti - 43 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 21 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 6 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 11 cases

3,707 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 802 of the 3,707 patients are in critical condition. 220 of the 802 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
24,805 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than five million tests have been conducted in the country so far.
Georgia has received the 100,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine earlier today. However, Sinopharm vaccination will not start until it received approval from the World Health Organisation.
Georgia will receive 200,000 doses of two Chinese vaccines this Saturday, Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Amiran Gamkrelidze announced earlier today. Georgia bought 100,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, while another 100,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine were gifted by China to Georgia.
Mass Covid-19 immunisation is expected to start in Georgia in July, announces Head of the Georgian National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze, adding that it does not mean that getting the vaccination against coronavirus will become mandatory.

Georgia has reported its first confirmed case of the South African coronavirus variant. Head of the National Center for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze said that the South African strain has been confirmed to a Georgian citizen with a travel history in Dubai.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has approved the second Chinese Sinovac vaccine for emergency use in all countries, giving the green light for this vaccine to be rolled out globally, including in Georgia.
Georgia has reported 954 new cases of coronavirus, 896 recoveries and 30 deaths in the past 24 hours. 30,603 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 18,444 of the 30,603 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,159 were PCR tests. The country has had 346,150 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 3.23 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
Georgia has reported 779 new cases of coronavirus, 959 recoveries and 23 deaths in the past 24 hours. 30,026 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 15,527 of the 30,026 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14,999 were PCR tests. The country has had 347,762 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 3.06 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
