Pianist Mariam Batsashvili is set for an evening bill of Franz Liszt, Maurice Ravel and more at Vienna Konzerthaus on Sunday, as the young talent prepares to take to the stage of the historical venue "on short notice".

Works by Liszt (waltz from Faust, Erlkönig S 558/4), Ravel (Sonatine fis-moll), Chopin, Thalberg and Schumann will be heard by the audience in the Mozart Hall of the concert hall flocking for the evening show.

Batsashvili will offer her renditions of a selection of classics following a move for her to stand in for Canadican pianist Angela Hewitt, who is not going to be able to appear at the Vienna performance hall due to travel restrictions.

The Vienna venue, tracing its roots all the way back to 1913, hosts hundreds of events and over 600,000 visitors during its annual seasons. It is promoted as "one of the largest and most artistically progressive institutions in international musical life".
