Mariam Kvrivishvili appointed Deputy Minister of Economy

Mariam Kvrivishvili, member of the Parliament of Georgia, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on European Integration and former Head of the National Tourism Administration, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, announces the Ministry of Economy of Georgia.

Kvrivishvili will be in charge of tourism, aviation and resort development at the ministry.

Prior to her appointment as Deputy Minister of Economy, Kvrivishvili's activities were related to the EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly (EURONEST PA). 

She has been the Chairperson of the Open Governance Permanent Parliamentary Council since January 21, 2021, and since February 18, 2021 she has been a member of the friendship group of the Parliament of Georgia, which unites the parliaments of the US, Bangladesh, Germany, Qatar, UK, Northern Ireland, Lebanon, Morocco, Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, France, India, Kuwait, and the Swiss Confederation.

In 2019-2020 Kvrivishvili was the head of the National Tourism Administration, while earlier in 2012-2014 she held the position of deputy head at the same administration. 

In 2014-2019 she was the General Director of Voyager, a tour operator, and at the same time the Regional Manager of the airline flydubai. 

In 2016 Kvrivishvili received the national award of the Ministry of Economy for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Tourism in Georgia'.
