About 1,100 foreign citizens have applied for the Remotely from Georgia programme since August 27, which allows foreigners to travel to Georgia and work remotely from the country.
Head of Georgian National Tourism Administration Mariam Kvrivishvili spoke about the economic benefits the country receives from the project earlier today, noting high-income visitors who have already arrived in the country within the framework of the project are using the various services of the tourism sector.
As of now 700 persons have requested to work from Georgia whose income per month is more than the minimal requirement of $2,000 and is about $5,700,” said Kvrivishvili.
She said that many hotels, flats, car rent services and guides benefit from this project.
Remotely from Georgia is designed for freelancers, full-time employees or business owners who are able to stay in Georgia for at least 360 days without a visa per their passport or other travel document.
The project continues and the application process is still open.
Citizens of foreign countries who seek to enter Georgia via the project have to fill out a mandatory application form available at www.stopcov.ge and obtain preliminary confirmation required for crossing the border.
Individuals that come to Georgia with the Remotely from Georgia programme must cover quarantine expenses for eight days and PCR testing.
