In total 98,443 Georgian citizens have already registered for temporary legal employment in Germany, while there are 1,427 Georgian citizens who have registered for the same programme in Israel, announces the State Employment Promotion Agency of Georgia.
Registration for the programme started on February 15 for Germany and on April 12 for Israel on https://workabroad.moh.gov.ge/ and will continue throughout the year.
Seasonal jobs are available in the agricultural sector in Germany where about 5,000 Georgian citizens will be able to be legally employed for three months.
As for Israel, the country is offering about 1,000 Georgian citizens to find temporary legal employment as homecare specialists for one year.
Georgian citizens will receive at least $1,610 a month in wages if they work 42 hours a week in Israel, while if they work 58 hours a week the monthly salary will be about $2,440, says the Ministry of Health of Georgia.
France will allow Georgian citizens to find legal employment in the country by the end of 2021, Head of the Department of Migration, Repatriation and Refugee Issues of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Giorgi Bunturi told the Georgian Public Broadcaster earlier today.
Starting today Georgian citizens can apply for legal employment in Israel for a one-year term as part of an agreement signed between Israel and Georgia on April 9, announces the Ministry of Health of Georgia.
Within the last 24 hours, over 53,000 Georgian citizens have registered for the seasonal employment program in Germany, reports the State Employment Promotion Agency.
In total 1,132 Georgian citizens have already registered for one-year employment program in Israel, while there are only 1,000 vacancies available for home care specialists in 2021.
The unemployment rate in Georgia increased by 0.9% compared to 2019 and amounted to 18.5% in 2020, show data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). In the reporting period the economically active population was made up by 50.5% of the working age population (population aged 15 and older).
Twenty-four Georgian citizens who went to Germany within a seasonal employment programme say they are working in ‘very difficult conditions’, and are not receiving the salary specified in the original contract.
The average monthly income (cash and non-cash inflows) of the Georgian population amounted to 1,194.6 billion GEL in 2020, which is 4.5% less compared to 2019, says the National Statistic Office of Georgia (Geostat).
