Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region begins coronavirus vaccination with Russian Sputnik V vaccine

Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region has begun coronavirus vaccination earlier today with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. 

Local de facto health officials have stated that 20 individuals had registered for vaccination. However, antibodies were found in 14 of the 20 individuals.

Consequently, six individuals will be vaccinated. 

Individuals over 18 are eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine in Tskhinvali. 

However, de facto authorities say that initially medical and school personnel will be vaccinated. 

Another of Georgia’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region has also received 6,500 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia.
