Georgia reports 1,271 new cases of coronavirus of 28,751 tests

Georgia has reported 1,271 new cases of coronavirus, 729 recoveries and 11 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

28,751 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 14,187 of the 28,751 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14,564 were PCR tests. 

The country has had 301,535 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

3.75 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said last week that if more than four per cent of tested individuals test positive for coronavirus in two consecutive weeks, the government of Georgia is likely to impose coronavirus restrictions, including lockdown. 

284,286 of the 301,535 patients have recovered, while 3,992 have died from the virus.

  • Tbilisi - 781 cases 
  • Adjara - 98 cases 
  • Imereti - 71 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 52 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 53 cases 
  • Guria - 41 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 91 cases 
  • Kakheti - 48 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 27 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 6 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3 cases

3,527 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 584 of the 3,527 patients are in critical condition. 113 of the 584 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 

21,834 individuals are in self-isolation. 

More than 4,000,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
