Tbilisi police have made an arrest after a young man was shot in the downtown and then hospitalised in the capital on Tuesday.
Local media reported on a shooting on Nasidze Street in the Vake-Saburtalo District, with confrontation reported from the scene leading up to the incident.
Formula news channel report said the alleged perpetrator - referred to as a "hired assassin" - had reportedly used delivery driver uniform and accessories as concealment for the attack.
The injured person - a resident of the street - was initially reported to be in critical condition, while the assailant also received injuries after being physically confronted by another person following his assault.
The clinic treating the victim later said his life was not in danger after surgery on two firearm wounds.
