Georgia reports 1,077 new cases of coronavirus of 31,645 tests

Georgia has reported 1,077 new cases of coronavirus, 442 recoveries and eight deaths in the past 24 hours. 

31,645 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 20,727 of the 31,645 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10,918 were PCR tests. 

The country has had 293,321 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

2.77 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said earlier this week that if more than four per cent of tested individuals test positive for coronavirus in two consecutive weeks, the government of Georgia is likely to impose coronavirus restrictions, including lockdown. 

279,831 of the 293,321 patients have recovered, while 3,916 have died from the virus.

  • Tbilisi - 641 cases 
  • Adjara - 97 cases 
  • Imereti - 52 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 44 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 38 cases 
  • Guria - 27 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 109 cases 
  • Kakheti - 36 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 22 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 5 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 6 cases

2,720 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 466 of the 2,720 patients are in critical condition. 87 of the 466 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 

15,263 individuals are in self-isolation. 

More than 3,822,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
