Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili visited a checkpoint at the entrance of the Marneuli municipality which is under quarantine for the seventh day now.
President Zurabishvili thanked police, military servicemen and healthcare professionals for their nonstop fight against the coronavirus.

Calling on citizens to be more careful, Zurabishvili said the violation of the safety norms might be dangerous for the entire country.
We are now starting a new level of the fight when all of us should be cautious and acknowledge that we are all responsible for one another’s heath”, President Zurabishvili stated.

A total of 12 checkpoints have been set up in Marneuli and Bolnisi municipalities in eastern Georgia on major roads in order to control traffic in the region.
Both municipalities were placed under lockdown late at night on March 22 after a 62-year-old woman from Marneuli tested positive for COVID-19.
