3 individuals fined for violating self-isolation rules in Georgia

Police have fined 3 individuals for violating self-isolation rules in Georgia’s western Imereti, Guria regions and in Eastern Mtskheta-Mtianeti region today.

Each individual must pay a 3,000 GEL fine and have been placed under a mandatory quarantine for 14 days in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus – COVID-19.

Police also fined the organization named New Leaders Initiative in Georgia’s with 15,000 GEL for gathering thousands in the street in western town of Zugdidi to receive facemasks and hand sanitizer gifted by Saakashvili’s Presidential Library.

Failure to comply with the state of emergency results in:

Administrative liability - a fine of 3,000 GEL for individuals and 15,000 GEL for legal entities; repeat offences will result in criminal liability, namely, imprisonment for a term of up to three years
