Agriculture Minister: Georgia has enough meat, fish supplies

Georgia has enough supplies of meat and fish and there are no difficulties in importing cargo and replenishing supplies, announces Georgian Ministry of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili. 

At a meeting with importers and distributors of food and meat stuffs, Georgian Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili said that it is important to ensure the uninterrupted supply of food products under the regulations in force in the country.

We work on a daily basis to ensure that the population does not suffer from food shortages. We have constant communication with every link of the food supply chain so that there are no interruptions, and products are delivered continuously. At the regular meetings with the business society we discuss all the issues created by the emergency situation in the world. These issues are related to custom procedures as well as hygiene and veterinary issues", said Davitashvili. 

Davitashvili said that in the current situation state support is important for the business sector "however it is also very important for the business sector to show special responsibility".
