Georgian gov’t will cover increased water tariff for families in need in Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Rustavi

Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia has stated earlier today that the government will cover increased water supply fees for families in need living in the cities of Tbilisi, Mtskheta and Rustavi.

The new tariffs in Tbilisi and Mtskheta are defined as follows:

  • Tariff for consumers without water meters (households) will be 4.517 GEL per month for 1 family member, which is 0.627 GEL higher than the existing tariff
  • Tariff for consumers with water meters will be 0.500 GEL per cubic meter/month, which is 0.171 GEL higher than the existing tariff
  • Non-household tariff per cubic meter will be 6.503 GEL, which is 2.100 GEL higher than the existing tariff

As for Rustavi Water LTD, the tariff for households has been increased from 40 to 50 tetri per cubic metre

The price for customers without water meters has become 3 GEL instead of 2.2 GE, while the non-household tariff will be 3.7 GEL, which is 10 tetri higher than the previous price.

Gakharia also stated today that the government will  cover increased electricity fees for households which consume less than 300 kWh of electricity per month in 2021.
