A 23-year-old doctor has been found dead at Aversi hospital in Marneuli district.
A local radio station in Marneuli reports that the young man, who had recently recovered from coronavirus, has allegedly died from a blood clot.
The Union of Healthcare and Service Sector Workers, also known as Solidarity Network, wrote on Facebook that amid the lack of the hospital staff Giorgi Buadze had to combine the duties of a nurse which ‘doubled his workload’.
As of now Georgia has reported a total of 220,508 cases of COVID-19 since late-February, including 200,339 recoveries and 2,352 deaths. 17,791 people remain infected with the virus.
