A 23-year-old doctor has been found dead at Aversi hospital in Marneuli district.
A local radio station in Marneuli reports that the young man, who had recently recovered from coronavirus, has allegedly died from a blood clot.
The Union of Healthcare and Service Sector Workers, also known as Solidarity Network, wrote on Facebook that amid the lack of the hospital staff Giorgi Buadze had to combine the duties of a nurse which ‘doubled his workload’.
As of now Georgia has reported a total of 220,508 cases of COVID-19 since late-February, including 200,339 recoveries and 2,352 deaths. 17,791 people remain infected with the virus.
The family of 19-year-old Tekla Tordia, who has died of coronavirus, claims the death was caused by delayed hospitalisation. Tekla’s mother Irma Tordia told Rustavi 2 TV that her daughter was initially sent to a special Covid-hotel which did not even have medical oxygen, but the family was told that there were no places at hospitals.
The Emergency Management Service (EMS) of Georgia has dismissed the allegations of TV channel Mtavari Arkhi regarding the recent ‘explosion’ of the coronavirus cases among firefighters throughout the country, and stated that only 173 of 3,000 firefighters have tested positive for the coronavirus throughout the country.
A 68-year-old doctor has died of coronavirus in the Russia-occupied Akhalgori district. Onise Gatenashvili was a surgeon at the Akhalgori hospital. His family requested he be sent to Tbilisi for treatment when he tested positive for COVID-19.
A total of 1,097 cases of coronavirus, 3,208 recoveries and 25 deaths have been reported over the last 24 hours in Georgia. Archbishop Iakob of Bodbe, who recently tested positive for coronavirus, is currently undergoing treatment at First University Clinic in the Georgian capital of Georgia.
A total of 1,784 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours after conducting 14,421 tests. Meanwhile, 4,119 people have recovered, outnumbering the new cases; while 39 individuals have died.
Georgia has reported 538 new cases of coronavirus, 2,766 recoveries and 41 deaths in the past 24 hours. 4,769 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country (due to the weekend). 1,955 of the 4,769 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,814 were PCR tests. Georgia has had 222,143 cases of coronavirus since February. 206,313 of the 222,143 individuals have recovered, while 2,418 others have died.
Georgia has reported 2,012 new cases of coronavirus, 2,638 recoveries and 25 deaths in the past 24 hours. 13,451 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country. 8,313 of the 13,451 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 5,138 were PCR tests. Georgia has had 224,155 cases of coronavirus since February. 208,951 of the 224,155 individuals have recovered, while 2,443 others have died.
