A total of 4,321 new cases of coronavirus were reported over the last 24 hours in Georgia, while 8,580 PCR and 5,816 rapid tests were conducted.
Deputy Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council Berdia Sichinava has announced at a news briefing today that the number of the total confirmed cases has now increased to 162,475 since February.
Out of the 4,321 new cases 1,615 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
Sichinava also announced that 4,301 individuals have recovered, 42 others have died, while 27,434 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia as of now.
A special working group has been established in Georgia that will oversee the Covid-19 vaccination process, which is responsible for ensuring the timely import of the vaccines and to supervise infrastructural and logistics processes.

The interior ministry has meanwhile announced that a total of 1,049 individuals have been fined for violating the coronavirus-related regulations.
Failure to abide by the obligation to wear a face mask in public is punishable by a fine of 20 GEL. Meanwhile, violation of the rules of isolation and quarantine shall result in administrative liability and a fine to the amount of 2,000 GEL for individuals and 10,000 GEL for a legal entity.
