Int’l flights will not resume until New Year’s in Georgia

Regular international flights will not resume in Georgia until December 31, 2020 announces the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.
The restriction does not apply to direct international flights that are carried out / scheduled between Tbilisi International Airport and the following airports:
- Munich
- Paris
- Riga
- Doha
- Warsaw
- Athens
- Amsterdam
- Berlin
- Vienna
- Milan
The restriction also does not apply to scheduled flights between Kutaisi International Airport and the following airports:
- Riga
- Katowice
- Vilnius
- Dortmund

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air, Latvian flag carrier AirBaltic and Georgian Airways have made changes to their flight schedules amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Civic Aviation Agency calls on the citizens to plan their flights carefully and to take into consideration the coronavirus-related restrictions published by official, verified sources.
Georgia is gradually restoring more direct flights starting November 1 from Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports. Seven direct flights will be restored from Tbilisi airport while three will be restored from Kutaisi airport.
Georgia intends to restore more direct flights to Europe starting November, said Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia earlier today.
Georgians travelling to Lithuania will be obliged to go into 14-days self-isolation and also present a negative PCR test for coronavirus conducted within the last 72 hours.
Georgian cargo airline Geo Sky will operate regular cargo flights from China to Europe during the 2020-2021 winter navigation season, announces Georgian Civil Aviation Agency. Between December 1 and March 27 Geo Sky will carry out flights with a Boeing B747-200 three times a week.
European aviation closed out 2020 with 6.1 million fewer flights operated and over half the aircraft in Europe grounded, says Eurocontrol in its newly published paper called ‘What COVID-19 did to European Aviation in 2020, and Outlook 2021’ noting that Georgia’s air traffic decreased the most amongst European states.
Two low-cost airlines Flydubai and Air Arabia will resume flights to Georgia starting the end of this month, says the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.
Pegasus Airlines will resume flights to Georgia from February 11, says the United Airports of Georgia. The company will offer daily flights to passengers between Tbilisi and Istanbul.
