48 new cases of HIV/AIDS have been reported in Georgia in January 2020, seven cases more compared with the same period of 2019, the Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center of Georgia reports.
As of January 31, 2020 a total of 8,150 HIV/AIDS cases have been registered in the country.
Among the infected 6,081 are male and 2,069 are female.
The majority of patients are 29-39 years old.
Of the 8,150, 4,271 patients developed AIDS and 1,645 have died.
Most of the HIV cases, 3,007, are registered in Tbilisi (87 of the 3,007 are foreign citizens).
