A Georgian wine degustation event was held in Munich, Germany on October 30, says the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
The event was organised by Aviareps, a contractor company of the National Wine Agency.
The degustation event was attended by representatives of hotel and restaurant chains, sales professionals and media representatives.

Different wines of large and small wineries were presented at the event.
Germany is a priority market for Georgian wine to export, where the presentation of Georgian wine is a matter of great importance in terms of increasing its export potential and awareness of Georgian wine,” says the agency.
Against the backdrop of the pandemic, export of Georgian wine has increased in Germany.
In the last 10 months, 616,000 bottles of wine were exported from Georgia to Germany, which is a 22 per cent increase compared to the data of last year.
Export of Georgian wine to China has decreased by six per cent in February 2019 due to coronavirus outbreak, says the deputy Agriculture Minister Khatia Tsilosani. However, Georgian wine export grows to the European and the US markets, said Tsilosani.
Georgia exported 94 million bottles of wine to 53 countries in 2019, which is nine percent more compared to 2018 and the highest export volume in the history of independent Georgia, says the Georgian National Wine Agency.
Georgia is getting ready for the major grape harvest season during which more than a hundred thousand tonnes of grapes will be picked, packed and sold locally or exported. Traditionally, the wine harvest begins in September in Georgia’s winemaking regions – Kakheti, Imereti and Racha.
Head of Georgia’s National Wine Agency Giorgi Samanishvili, Degustation Commission Head Ana Godabrelidze and Marketing Department Director Irakli Cholobargia attended the Berliner Wein Trophy 2018 as jury members.

The 8,000-year history of Georgian wine is presented in a new three-minute animation made by Georgian wine company Tbilvino, which was released on December 6. Spanning scenes from 6,000 BC to the present, the animation shows the most important highlights from the history of Georgia which are related to wine.
In order to raise awareness and increase the export of Georgian wine to Germany the Georgian wine advertising campaign will be strengthened in Germany this year using various media platforms.
