Georgian FM to visit United States next week

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalklaiani will visit the United States next week.
FM Zalkaliani will travel to Washington D.C. on February 4-7 to participate in the annual Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, the Foreign Ministry has announced today.
During his US visit, David Zalkaliani will hold meetings at the US Department of State and Congress. He will meet with experts as well.
US media have also reported recently that Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia will also visit the US in spring “which will highlight Georgia’s significant contributions to US foreign policy”.
Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze has also scheduled to visit the US in near future.

United States Ambassador to the OSCE James Gilmore said in his address to the OSCE Permanent Council earlier today that “Georgia’s leadership of the important European organisation” demonstrates its contributions to the international community. "Foreign Minister [David] Zalkaliani, the United States warmly welcomes you to the Permanent Council as the representative of Georgia's Presidency of the Council of Europe”, he said.
“Gamarjoba! I am delighted to be here finally”, new United States Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan said upon arriving in the country earlier today. "It is an honor to serve as the US Ambassador to Georgia. I look forward to continuing the strong partnership America and Georgia have had”, Kelly Degnan said.
New United States Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan met with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia yesterday after officially assuming her duties as ambassador. "We covered number of topics, including security cooperation, our economic cooperation and opportunities to increase our economic ties”, Degnan said.
The Prime Minister and President of Georgia shared their concern with the scenes that unfolded at the US Capitol building in Washington DC on Wednesday, but expressed confidence in American democracy to overcome the crisis.
