Georgian cargo turnover amounted to 42.3 million tonnes in 2019 which is 1.2 million tonnes more compared to 2018, show data from the Ministry of Economy.
The volume of cargo processed at Georgian sea ports and sea terminals amounted to 17.2 million tonnes, which is 2.1 million tonnes more compared to 2018.
Meanwhile, 31.4 million tonnes of cargo was transported by the railway.
Cargo transported by vehicles decreased from 25.5 million tonnes to 24.9 million tonnes.
In total, the number of passenger rides by all kinds of transport was 412.2 million which is 11 million more than in 2018. Out of this number, 404 million rides were carried out by the road transport, while 5.2 million rides were carried out by the civil aviation. Meanwhile, 3 million rides were carried out by railways.
