The volume of cargo passing through Tbilisi International Airport between January-August reached 11,778,873 tonnes, a two percent increase compared to the same period of 2021, operator TAV Georgia said on Friday.
The company also said the figure marked a 27 percent decrease compared to the same period in the pre-pandemic year of 2019.
Between January and August 2021 the number stood at 11,502,897 tonnes, while in 2020 it was recorded at 11,009,001 tonnes. The 2019 cargo volume that passed through the airport was 16,139,060 tonnes.
