Georgian economy grows 3.8% in December 2019

Georgian gross domestic product (GDP) grew 3.8 per cent in December 2019 compared to the same period of last year, show the latest data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In December 2019 the estimated real growth compared to the same period of the previous year occurred in the following sectors: manufacturing, transport and storage, wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles and hotels and restaurants.

Georgian external trade turnover increased to $12.83 billion (2.7 per cent higher y/y) in January-December 2019 show preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In 2019, the value of exports increased 12.4 per cent and reached $3.77 billion, while imports decreased 0.8 per cent and amounted to $9.06 billion.
