Georgian economy grows 6.4% in November 2019

Georgian gross domestic product (GDP) grew 6.4 per cent in November 2019 compared to the same period of last year, show the latest data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In November 2019 the estimated real growth compared to the same period of the previous year occurred in the following sectors: manufacturing, transport and storage, construction, wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. 

A decrease was registered in real estate activities and in the arts, entertainment and recreation activities.

Georgian external trade turnover increased to $11.5 billion (1.4 per cent higher y/y) in January-November 2019 show preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In the first 11 months of 2019, the value of exports increased 11.7 per cent and reached $3.38 billion, while imports decreased 2.3 per cent and amounted to $8.12 billion.

Geostat data show that 3,898 new enterprises were registered in November 2019, which is a 1.3 per cent decrease compared to November 2018.
