83.8 percent of Georgian households have internet access this year, which is 4.6 per cent per cent more compared to the previous year, says the survey of the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
Among the Georgian population aged 15 years and older who used the internet within the last three months, the main reason for accessing the internet was to use social media (95.2 per cent).
74 per cent of the population aged six years and older has used the internet within the last three months, which is 3.4 per cent more compared to the same indicator of last year.

94.7 percent of internet users aged 15 years and older, who used the internet within the last 3 months, have used a mobile device (mobile phone, laptop, tablet or other devices) to connect to wireless internet. This indicator is 95.6 percent for women, while it is 93.6 percent for men.
About 61.8 percent of households have a computer in Georgia.

80.6 percent of the population aged 15 years and older who used computers within the last three months, use computers every day or almost every day, while 12.8 percent use it at least once a week (but not every day) and 6.6 percent more rarely.
Moreover, 86.5 percent of the population aged six years and older owns a mobile phone.
