Noble Partner 2020 exercises officially kick off in Georgia, involving over 2,700 troops

The Noble Partner 2020 multinational military exercise has officially begun today, with the participation of over 2,700 troops from Georgia, the US, the UK, Poland and France.
The exercises will include situational training, live-fire drills, and combined mechanised maneuvers at Georgia’s Vaziani and Camp Norio training areas.
Georgia is hosting the Noble Partner 2020 for the fifth time this year. The multinational military exercise is designed to enhance regional partnerships and increase US force readiness and interoperability in a realistic, multinational training environment.
British Embassy in Tbilisi posted on its official Twitter page that 130 British troops arrived in Georgia for the Noble Partner 2020 exercises:

Georgain Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani said that Noble Partner 2020 continues to demonstrate the US commitment to stability and security in the region and shows that NATO allies and partners stand stronger together.
Against the background of existing challenges and hybrid threats, this year’s training is particularly important for enhancing regional stability and security. I believe that it is the modern, NATO-compatible defense forces, and close cooperation with our partners, that bring us even closer to alliance membership and ensure security in Georgia and in the Black Sea region", said Zalkaliani.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia also put an emphasis on the role of the Noble Partner 2020 as 'the most important component' of the Georgian army that will help the country achieve Euro-Atlantic integration.
Noble Partner 2020 is an important continuation of the cycle of exercises and it is one of the most important tools for the readiness of our country's defense forces and their compatibility with our partners. We must use the knowledge that our soldiers will acquire during this exercise to build global peace. We must improve the conditions of our soldiers, their equipment and well-being day by day. Such exercises are a guarantee of peace for every citizen of Georgia and the state of our country", Gakharia said.

Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said that hosting the Noble Partner exercise in Georgia is 'clear proof that military cooperation between Georgia and the United States has never been as strong as it is today'.
Power is in partnership - this is the main message of our exercise and the aspiration for a strong partnership is the spirit that has brought together more than 2,700 troops despite the global pandemic. We thank the US for its great role in transforming the development of Georgia's defense forces and its democracy. Since the restoration of Georgia's independence, the United States has spent more than $4 billion on the development of our country", Gharibashvili said.
The 2020 edition of Noble Partner will run between September 7-18.
