Georgian police have detained three Indian citizens for illegally crossing the state border, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA).
The investigation found that the detainees had illegally crossed the Armenian-Georgian state border.
The crime is punishable by four to five years in prison.
An official statement released by the MIA reads that the Georgian Border Police has charged a total of 92 foreign citizens for illegally crossing the border during 2020, out of which 35 were citizens of Turkey, nine Indian citizens, four Iranian citizens, four individuals from Palestine, and one citizen of Morocco.
