The Georgian State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civic Equality has expressed its ‘deep concern’ over the recent death of a 28-year-old man in the Russia-occupied region of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
Speaking of the ‘grave’ humanitarian situation in the occupied region, the State Ministry said that the death of Inal Dzhabiev on August 28, like other fatal accidents in recent years, lays on the de facto Tskhinvali leadership.
The Georgian government continues to use all the levers at its disposal to enable the population to live a safe and dignified life”, the State Ministry said today.
It also called on its partners to ‘continue pressure’ on the de facto leadership to stop human rights violations on the ground.

Inal Dzhabiev died on the way from the pretrial detention facility to hospital on August 28, which triggered tension in occupied Tskhinvali.
Reportedly, Dzhabiev, who was detained for an attack on the region’s de facto interior minister, was beaten to death.
The region’s de facto leader Anatoly Bibilov dismissed its ‘government’ after ‘prime minister’ Erik Pukhaev announced his resignation.
Bibilov said yesterday that ‘lack of professionalism’ of law enforcers has caused this tragic accident. Meanwhile today de facto parliament speaker announced that the offenders have been detained.
