Georgia reports 17 new COVID-19 cases

Seventeen individuals have tested positive for coronavirus in Georgia, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 1411 during the last 24 hours.
Eleven infected individuals out of the 17 belong to the ‘Lenjeri cluster’ in Mestia municipality.
Five cases are imported, including three truck drivers in the Black Sea region of Adjara, while the other one was in contact with an individual who was infected earlier.
Georgia has reported nine new cases of coronavirus increasing the total number of cases to 1394. Meanwhile, four patients have recovered from the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 1132.
Ambassador of Georgia to the UN Office in Geneva Alexandre Maisuradze and Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus have discussed the current coronavirus situation in Georgia and the measures taken by the Georgian government in response to the coronavirus crisis at today's meeting, announces the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
Villages in Mestia municipality which have been under lockdown will open starting August 21, except the village of Lenjeri and the small town of Mestia – the administrative center of the municipality.
Since the arrival of coronavirus in Georgia, a total of 283,000 people have been tested for coronavirus with PCR in Georgia, while over 180,000 have been tested with rapid tests in the country, said Deputy Head of the National Disease Control Centre Paata Imnadze.
Georgia has reported 10 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today. Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that two new patients contracted the virus from the Lenjeri village of Mestia municipality, two from contact from infected individual, five cases were ‘imported’ and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining one case.
An eighteenth person has died from coronavirus in Georgia, reports StopCov.ge, the state-run website created in March 2020 to inform the public about the coronavirus situation in the country. A total of 1,421 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country. 1,137 people have recovered. 7,005 people are in quarantine and 255 are under medical supervision at hospitals.
A nineteenth person has died from coronavirus in Georgia, while eight more people have tested positive for COVID-19 and the number of recoveries has increased by 13. One new patient contracted the virus from the Lenjeri village of Mestia municipality, two from contact from infected individuals, four cases were ‘imported’ of which three are truck drivers and one is a medical worker.
