A space and memorial dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust, the World War II genocide of European Jews, will be opened in Tbilisi, Tbilisi City Assembly officials stated earlier today, while marking the international day for Holocaust victims.

Tbilisi City Assembly head Giorgi Tkemaladze stated that the memorial and the space will be made with the “involvement of public and Georgian and Israeli officials.”

We will arrange the space together and pay tribute to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust together,” Tkemaladze said.

Nazi Germany murdered six million Jews, around two-thirds of Europe’s Jews, between 1941 and 1945.
