Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili honoured the memory of the millions of victims of the Holocaust on Thursday, marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
In comments on the date, the Georgian PM said the memory of the victims of the historical crime “obliges all nations and governments to build an international community of peace, understanding and cooperation, a world where such evil will never be repeated”.

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili also took part in the international remembrance, speaking of “the memory of the millions who died in the unspeakable tragedy, the greatest atrocity ever committed against humanity.”

The international community marks the International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, remembering the victims of the crime also known as the Shoah.
Around six million Jewish people were systematically murdered by the government of Nazi Germany as part of the atrocity between 1941-1945.
