Georgian stray dog named ‘Kupata’, who helps children safely cross the road in Georgia’s western, coastal city of Batumi, has been awarded by the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara, building for him a shelter with the inscription ‘people’s choice'.
Kupata appeared in focus of the ABC news shortly after the video went viral by one of Georgian Facebook users earlier this week.
Beka Tsinadze from Batumi was the first who uploaded the video depicting the efforts of the dog to help children on January 20, which was quickly shared by thousands, including ABC news.
The video has already been viewed by more than a million people from across the world.
