Fire erupts in Khaishi forest in Mestia municipality

Georgian firefighters are trying to extinguish a forest fire near the Khaishi village in Mestia municipality of western Georgia.
The Georgian Interior Ministry says 20 local firefighters appeared on the scene shortly after they received the information.
The ministry reports that a helicopter will be used to put out the fire.
Fires in the Ateni Gorge of Georgia, Kvemo Kartli region, have been extinguished after a four-day effort from about 300 firefighters, the Georgian Emergency Management Service reported earlier today.
Ten active fires have been reported around Georgia today, mostly on the lower layers of forests, the Georgian Emergency Management Service stated earlier today.
