Georgian company Medifari, which produces facemasks, is negotiating with Italy, the United States, Russia, Austria and Israel to export face masks to these countries.
We do not know the exact time when exports will start. Price is also a matter of negotiation. We have a very competitive price in the Georgian market, one face mask costs 65 tetri. We supply pharmacy chains and various organisations and the price is decreasing according to quantity", Sales Manager of Medifari Mariam Burchuladze told local media outlet IPN.
She said that the company produces about four million face masks per month.
In March around 10 Georgian companies began producing face masks in a move to prevent an outbreak of the new coronavirus, with the first batch set to be purchased by the government.
