Georgia has received $15,000 worth of locally-produced disposable medical gowns and coverall suits, as well as IR thermometers from the US Embassy's Office of Defence Cooperation (ODC) to help the country manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ODC, which is a long-time partner of the Georgian Interior Ministry, is supporting it in a number of areas, including in emergency preparedness and response, as well as enhancing the capability of the Georgian Coast Guard.

Meanwhile, earlier today the USAID/Georgia delivered roses to hospitals in Zugdidi and Rukhi in western Georgia to thank the medical professionals who are ‘working tirelessly to keep people healthy and safe’ during the pandemic.
As of now, the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia stands at 713, including 475 recoveries and twelve deaths.
Air pollution has decreased in the capital city of Tbilisi as well as in the whole country, announces the National Environment Agency of Georgia. The agency reported that the content of nitrogen dioxide in the air quality was particularly reduced on the streets where traffic was intense, including the avenues of Tsereteli and Kazbegi.
US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan summarised her first three months in the role during a virtual press conference earlier today, during which she focused on the challenges presented by the coronavirus, the Russian occupation of Georgian territories and the March 8 election agreement.
Georgian diplomatic representations have supported a total of 20,957 Georgian citizens abroad with accommodation, food, basic needs, medicines, financial help, online medical consultations and support to receive medical services.
Georgia will compensate people who lost their jobs while on leave due to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare or adoption of a child amid the coronavirus crisis.
The Emergency Management Service (ES) of Georgia has received firefighting equipment from the US Embassy’s Office of Defence Cooperation (ODC), reports the press office of the ES.
