EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen has sent a letter to Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili in which she welcomed the wish of Zurabishvili to visit Brussels once the public health situation allows.
Leyen says that the meeting would be an opportunity to discuss new steps in EU-Georgia relations after the ‘successful conclusion of 10 years of the Eastern Partnership, also in view of the future of the partnership.'
Georgia is an important partner for the EU and the European Commission is committed to further advance our bilateral relations,” said the letter.
The letter says that Georgia will receive more than 183 million Euros in grants to support immediate and short-terms needs in face of the coronavirus.
