Police have detained a clergyman for the attempted premeditate murder of another clergyman and the illegal purchase, storage and possession of firearms at the Kintsvisi Monastery in Georgia’s eastern Shida Kartli region.
The investigation has established that the detainee, only identified as K.K., 34, while moving on the road in the village of Rieti, Gori district, allegedly opened fire from an automatic firearm on the vehicle, which was driven by another clergyman of Kintsvisi Monastery. After that he fled the scene.
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs says that no one was injured during the accident.
The crime is punishable from seven to 15 years of imprisonment.
