Georgia continues to evacuate its citizens from WHO-recognised high risk countries.
As of April 17 Georgian diplomatic missions and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have helped 7,353 Georgian citizens abroad and brought back 6,435 citizens to their home country from different coronavirus-hit areas since the COVID-19 outbreak began worldwide.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that yesterday a Paris-Tbilisi-Paris flight brought 180 Georgian citizens back home.
Georgian citizens who are abroad and want to return to the country have to fill a special electronic application, which is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and on the websites of the diplomatic missions of Georgia.
Georgia extended the shutdown on regular air traffic until May 10 following the extension of the state of emergency, announced the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency yesterday.
Meanwhile, Georgia has reported 34 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 370.
Of the 370 patients 77 have recovered, while three others have died.
As of today Georgia has 293 active cases of the virus.
A total of 5,035 people are under quarantine in Georgia and 540 others are in hospitals.
