Churches will remain open for the Easter holiday.
In large churches, social distancing of at least 2 meters will be maintained, while in smaller churches, clergymen will hold the service without the presence of worshippers.
Deputy Head of the National Disease Control Centre Paata Imnadze has urged people to stay home in order to avoid a situation similar to that seen in Italy in recent months.
If you want to protect yourself, protect others, help the state do not go to the church, stay home. With this step, you will protect the church as well. There are people around us who are infected with the virus and show no symptoms,” Imnadze said.
Restrictions will be imposed at cemeteries as it is part of the Easter tradition in Georgia to visit the graves of loved ones.
