The Guardian has reported that Georgia has fewer reported cases of the coronavirus than many other foreign states and the country has managed to slow or stop the spread of the virus.

Linda Burton, in Tbilisi, points out that Georgia has only 252 confirmed cases and three deaths out of a population of 3.7 million. The three deaths were all women, aged 79 to 86, who had underlying health conditions, according to reports in local media,” wrote The Guardian.

The paper says that there will be many factors behind this “but experts have said the country was quick to enact travel restrictions – including banning flights from China as early as January – and closing nurseries, schools and universities in early March despite having relatively few confirmed cases.”

As of today Georgia has reported a total of 266 cases of the coronavirus.  67 people of the 266 have recovered, while three individuals have died.
