Georgian sailors rescued 12 crew members of the vessel Bellatrix sailing on the Mediterranean Sea last night after the vessel caught fire.
Georgian sailors brought all members of the crew from the burning Bellatrix onto their ship, the Arife: a dry cargo ship floating under the Panamanian flag.
There are six Georgian sailors employed on the Arife.
Among the saved sailors there are citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Turkey and India.
The Georgian sailors are also safe and have not been injured during the rescue operation.
