Georgian sailor dies of poisoning on Liberian-flagged cargo ship in Spain

Three sailors, including one Georgian and two Turkish citizens, have died of poisoning on a Liberian-flagged cargo ship operated by a Turkish company 50 miles off the Port of Cartagena, in southeastern Spain.

Turkish media outlet Anadolu Agency reports that the incident took place late on Wednesday on the Liberian-flagged cargo ship which was carrying sunflower oil.

Three sailors, including a Turkish captain of the ship, died of poisoning after a gas leak occurred during technical work in one of the ship’s tanks", reports the Anadolu Agency.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
