Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia traveled to the village of Khurvaleti in Shida Kartli region, alongside the occupation line with Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

Minister Gakhariavisited also visited the family of Data Vanishvili, living behind the barbed wire fence on the Russian-controlled land.
Vanishvili spoke with the Interior Minister of the hardships that he and his wife are facing every day.

Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Nauru and Syria are the only five countries which recognise two Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali as independent states.
The occupying forces are continuously erecting barbed wire fences and other artificial barriers on the lands of the Georgian population.
This process is called as "creeping occupation”.
The Georgian State Security Service and the European Union Monitoring Mission to Georgia (EUMM) have dismissed reports by a Facebook user that occupying forces have entered the Tbilisi-administered territory of the Khurvaleti village at the occupation line between Georgia’s breakaway Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region and the rest of Georgia and are now standing in the yards of locals.
The 91st Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism Meeting (IPRM) in the occupied Ergneti village of the breakaway Tskhinvali region has ended, during which the occupying forces stated that the newly erected lookout tower near the Khurvaleti village was needed “to better control the border.”

Occupation forces have appeared near the village of Khurvaleti, close to Tbilisi-controlled territory, and are digging into land on the slope overlooking the village, Radio Liberty reports, citing local resident Luda Salia who released a video depicting the process late yesterday.
