A multifunctional green city will be built in Georgia’s Black Sea resort town of Kobuleti, bringing 500 million GEL (about $185.53m/€ 164.60m) European investments to the region.
This will be the largest investment ever made in Adjara, in our touristic infrastructure. We are talking about the construction of a new green city that will become a calling card for all of Georgia”, said Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze who presented the project today.
Bakhtadze said that green city in Kobuleti will be built in three years.
The government of Adjara and Green Resorts have signed an investment agreement to build a new city on 180 hectares in Kobuleti.

The project includes construction of a golf pitch, football stadium, tennis courts, swimming pools, recreation zones, bicycle trails.

Besides creating sport infrastructure new 250-room hotel, shopping centre, parking space for 500 cars, food facilities, apartments and villas will also be built.
This project will enable us to turn Adjara into a four-season resort … and to create 500 job places”, said Bakhtadze.
Energy efficient and environmentally friendly materials will be used in construction.
