600 stream trout released in Shaori Lake in Racha region

The Georgian Agency of Wildlife has released 600 stream trout in Shaori Lake in western Georgia’s mountainous Racha region.

Stream trout are an endangered species in Georgia. 

The joint project of the Agency of Wildlife and LLC Shaori Lake aims to restore stream trout in Shaori Lake.

Infrastructure work is being carried out on the territory of Shaori Lake. Two ponds and eight reinforced concrete pools are built for the artificial production of stream trout.  As of today, more than 20,000 stream trout are produced artificially.

Wildlife Agency started implementing the project which aims to restore stream trout in Georgian rivers and lakes in 2016.
