November 2019: 26 bln GEL deposited, 31 bln GEL lent

In November 2019, 26.28 billion GEL ($9.16 bln/8.28 bln) was deposited in Georgian commercial banks, which is a 0.14 per cent month-on-month decrease, show the latest data by the National Bank of Georgia.

In the same time period, Georgian commercial banks lent 31.37 billion GEL ($10.94 bln/€9.88 bln), which is two per cent more compared to the previous month.

In November, the sum of term deposits increased by 101.98 million GEL ($35.56 mln/€32.12 mln), while demand deposits, which allow for flexible withdrawal, decreased by 139.52 million GEL ($48.65 mln/€43.94 mln).

Loans taken out in Georgian lari increased by 237.37 million GEL ($82.76 mln/€74.75 mln), while loans denominated in foreign currencies increased by 376.73 million GEL ($131.36 mln/€118.64 mln) month-on-month.
