His party took "a notable victory" in the elections of December 12, making "sweeping gains in England and Wales", BBC reports.
I say thank you for the trust you have placed in us, and in me.

We will work round the clock to repay your trust and to deliver on your priorities with a parliament that works for you.
Johnson hopes that this victory would bring "closure" to the Brexit debate and "start a process of healing".
