"We may be leaving the European Union (EU) but we are not leaving Europe and we regard the Euro-Atlantic vocation of Georgia as one of the key ambitions of our foreign policy”, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson said.

Meeting with the Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze in London today, Johnson said "we are here to deepen and intensify the friendship between Georgia and UK” in a number of directions.

He said defense and security of Georgia as well as trade cooperation are of huge importance "for us and our continent”.

I’m delighted to see that in the last years we've seen a 25 percent increase in the sale of Georgian wine to the United Kingdom and 25 percent increase of British tourists [to Georgia] through direct flights and obviously that’s an exchange we need to intensify”, Johnson said
And I’m looking myself very much to coming to Georgia at the earliest possible opportunity”, he added welcoming Minister Janelidze to London.

Foreign Minister Janelidze said "we are proud to stand together for the safety, security and development of the Euro-Atlantic community”.

We are developing not only our bilateral cooperation but our partnership in multilateral formats. We look forward to establishing a strong legal framework after Brexit including developing free trade and trade-economic cooperation”, Minister Janelidze said.

He thanked Johnson for UK’s strong and unwavering support towards Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and peaceful efforts to end Russian occupation in two regions of Georgia – Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

Georgian top officials have arrived in the UK to attend the Georgia-UK fourth session of dialogue, known as the Wardrop Dialogue, created to enhance ties between the two nations.
