The Emergency Management Service reported that forest fires have been extinguished near the village of Khevrali in the municipality of Mestia in Svaneti region and in the village of Didi Riketi in the municipality of Khulo in Adjara region in western Georgia earlier today.
About 200 fire-fighters will try to extinguish fire at the five remaining locations from tomorrow morning near:
Forest fires have been raging at seven locations around the country from November 17. Fire was reportedly ranging in the Russian occupied region of Abkhazia as well.
Emergency Management Service calls on the farmers, hunters, rangers and local residents to be “maximally cautious” not to harm the nature.
