The volume of money transfers to Georgia in October 2019 was $153.2 million, which is an 11.5 per cent increase compared to October 2018, announces the National Bank of Georgia.
More than one-third of money transfers come in from the European Union:
- EU countries - $57.87 million (37.77%)
- Other countries - $95.34 million (62.23%)
The largest countries from which money transfers entered Georgia were the following:
- Russia - $37.86 million (24.71%)
- Italy –$21.01 million (13.72%)
- Greece – $15.95 million (10.41%)
- US – $15.23 million (9.94%)
- Israel – $13.59 million (8.87%)
- Turkey – $8.01 million (5.23%)
$22.5 million was transferred from Georgia to foreign countries in October 2019, which is 5.9 per cent more than it was in October 2018 ($21.2 million).
