Georgian wines on display at ProWine China international wine fair in Shanghai

Almost two dozen Georgian wine producers are presenting their spirits and wines at ProWine China international wine exhibition currently taking place in Shanghai, China on November 12-14.

More than 100,000 visitors are in attendance at the expo, including leading wine specialists, wine importers, distributors of wine and media representatives from around the world.

The event is being supported by the National Wine Agency of Georgia and Georgian Wine Association.

The festival included a Saperavi symposium and tasting for wine professionals.

15 Georgian wine producers were presented at the event.

The event was attended by wine importers, representatives of restaurants and hotel chains of China and also representatives of the media.

The event was held within the framework of the "Asian Wine Tour of Georgia," which includes presenting Georgian wine in different cities of China.

In January-October 2019 China was in the top three Georgian wine importing countries.

In the first 10 months of 2019, more than six million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia to China, which is a 12 per cent increase compared to the same period of last year.

In January-October 2019, Georgia exported 75.6 million bottles of wine to 53 countries around the world, which is an increase of 11 per cent compared to the same period of last year, announces the National Wine Agency of Georgia.

Export revenue of wine was $195 million in the first 10 months of 2019, which is 20 per cent more than in the same period of 2018.
